About Us
The Jammu
Development Authority was created in 1971, under the J & K Development Act
No. XIX of 1970. It was transferred as a resource all the vacant Nazool land
located within 13 km radius of the Jammu city. With this land bank and a handful of human resource, JDA started
its odyssey to manage the land, develop it to create better infrastructure
and in the process catering to the needs and demands of the fast expanding Jammu urban area. Over the years it succeeded in creating significant
infrastructure, commercial and office complexes, residential colonies, parks
and green belts beautiful rotaries with statues and institutions of art. It
also prepared Master Plans for the Jammu City. In its journey spanning more than three and half
decades, it has left indelible mark every where.
Today, the
organisation proudly claims to be one of the few self-reliant organisations
in the state. It has sound financial base and does not depend on the govt.
exchequer or any financial institution help for the administrative expenses
and other development activities including various small projects.
